Water shortage hit UEW
*WATER SHORTAGE HITS UEW, SOUTH CAMPUS
Good evening colleagues. As you read this piece, please share till it gets to the SRC leadership.
I want to use this opportunity to first of all extend my regards to the SRC leadership.
I have reported to campus on the 2nd of October, 2017. I have duly paid all my fees, including my hall fees, JRC dues and the ALMIGHTY SRC DUES. I have also duly matriculated and signed the matriculation register and have written all my quizzes up to date. Therefore, I am a legally, a student of UEW and for that matter and as established by law under the constitution of Ghana and all legal documents of this school, I stand and all other students stand to benefit from all facilities that are at the disposal of students.
As a matter of fact, there are many things going on wrongly on campus and Our Hall and SRC leaderships seem to careless about. I strongly feel their attitude towards students welfare is "country broke, country no broke ooo", it's not their business.
Why thsecurity ment?
1. For the past one week, the LH 2 of faculty of Science block has always been darker during the day and darkest in the nights. Students are denied the opportunity to use this room for study, especially at night. As if it is not enough, corridors which could be our refuge and saviour, there are fluorescent lights, the whole corridor has become blur.
2. Poor security and streetlight networks: Security or street light are minimal especially along the streets bungalows of some of our lecturers, the ladies' hall (Aggrey Halls A&B) respectively. This days criminals are rovering round the corridors of the halls stealing students items.
3. The unhygienic conditions of our bath houses and gents as a result of the acute water shortage that hits the halls. As a matter fact, since three days ago, Ghartey started facing such challenges and it is increasingly becoming worst as the days pass by. Eventually, until there will be severe cholera outbreak before our leaders start rushing for help.
For this reasons, I am calling on leadership to as a matter of urgency, fix these challenges before these situations get out of hands.
Thank you all for your attention.
